No, we have not only a look at the tulip fields. We also strolled through Medenblik – a lovely town. As we could not see the North Sea, here is water as well. Only a walk at the dyke is not possible. They are not accessible.

The next day – at sunny weather – was dedicated to the tulips again. In Limmen is the hortusbulborum which grows old kinds of tulips. A visit is worthwhile.

The meadow manager wanted to see the North Sea. So we drove over land seeing tulip fields and fields with grape hyacinth. We never arrived at the North Sea. The parking space also outside – one hour walk – was quite expensive. But on the other hand fields with tulips and fields with grape hyacinths.

Water from above, on side one a channel and on the other side a channel as well - however some distance below. Between there was a very narrow road for car respectively bicycles. There you could only hope, nothing is coming towards you.
But we arrived at De Rijp, which is the oldest town (I would say village) of Holland. What was new for us, yesterday the ‘koning’ and the ‘koningin’ celebrated the ‘koningdag’. They were in this village for six minutes, on that account there were thousands of people.

The weather changed to the better, we rambled about the village. I had to be careful, that I didn’t enter houses, because I thought they were coffees or shops with bit and bobs.

Dann fuhren wir weiter nach – na wohin-
Then we drove further on – where else -

yes Edam. We bought some cheese, ate cheese-filled rolls and strolled through town.

The sluice keeper had a lot of work. Has he finished with one sluice he had to drive to the next one – naturally with the bicycle.

Then we returned to the camping side, went for a walk and afterwards drinking beer at the restaurant – our evening routine.
