Hofheim– Hofheim

On Thursday I met an old acquaintance for a chat with coffee. At the way I saw some beautiful window display.
Needless to say in one shop I made a find. The other shop had lunch time (for my purse it was good).

Schneeglöckchentag in Oirlich – snowdrop festival in Oirlich

Actually we wanted to travel to Oirlich on Saturday to the snowdrop festival. But the weather forecast at the evening before - didn’t bode well – snowfall and cold. We started early – only light snowfall. Then the report of an accident at the A61 at Rheinböllen with the request to keep a track for the gritting lorry. We didn’t get the entire message and wanted to wait for the next information in half an hour.  And then a buzzard was flying in our car – I hope I only touched him/her – anyway in the rear-vision mirror I saw him/her fly upward. We only looked at each other and we both thought it might be a sign from our death family members and friends that we should not travel further on. Without further ado we turned and travelled home.
Hier einige Bilder aus 2010 – vom Wiesenmanager aufgenommen

(kein) Sonnenschein und (kein) Schnee – (no) sunshine and (no) snow

At the moment all combinations are possible, although the sunshine is quite rare, unfortunately. The January was the darkest January since many years - God only knows. So it’s a must to use the sunshine, also if not all is nice – see the shoes.

Aber man sollte das schöne sehen. Der Frühling ist nicht mehr aufzuhalten.
But someone has to see the beautiful things. Spring cannot slow down any more.

Also the pennywort begins to flower.

Dieses Moos öffnet sich nur bei Sonnenschein.
This moss is only to see at sunshine.

Winterlinge – meine Lieblinge
Winter aconites – my favourites.

The viola has chosen its own place, the geranium is beginning to sprout, and also the crocuses in the meadow are flowering.

The mole is preparing for chasing his rival in love - at the moment in the garden of the neighbour.

Und auch unser Wintergast genießt die Sonne.
And also our guest during the wintertime is enjoying the sunshine.

Bald bekommt er Besuch von den Libellen.
Soon he will have visits from the dragonflies.

My mother had a milestone birthday. So we decided spontaneously to travel (normally my sister with family is coming). But we booked an accommodation in the ‘Ökodorf’, which was on one hand quite nice and on the other hand also good for us. There was – beside of the central heating – a wood burning stove as well. For this the logs were provided.  Here an impression of the accommodation.

Unfortunately all was white and cold. So I didn’t like to take a lot of pictures. The first morning we awaked by snow.

Some days later the weather changed a little bit and we walked to the next village ‘Kirchdorf an der Krems’ – through the forest. Therefore there is few to look at – only woodpiles.

And at the end you see the border to the neighbouring community.
