Der Garten im Juni – the garden in June

Endlich mal Sonne.
At last the sun was shining. I took machete (hihi) in my hand and struggled to the clearing.
The clearing is on the other side of the (usual) garden entrance (by the way there is an entrance as well) and is edged by a hedge of spruces (they are planted by the former owner with seedlings from the Black Forest).
Last year the grass was low. This year it is difficult to see the other part of the garden from the bench.

Es gibt derzeit jede Mengen Schwebfliegen. So die Hainschwebfliege und
At the moment there are a lot of hoverflies. So there is the marmalade hoverfly (Episyrphus balteatus) and

die Gartenschwebfliege.
the common banded hoverfly (Syrphus ribesii).

The identification I found in the internet under Insektenbox’. I didn’t know that there are so many hoverflies exists. Some of them I would think the belong to bumblebees.

Was ich am Juni so mag – what my liking to June is

In my Austrian magazine there is a column about ‘What my liking to a month is?’
And so I had to think about this by myself. Maybe the one or two will think about this as well.
Aber erst mal Wilhelm Busch:
‚Der Juni kam. Lind weht die Luft. Geschoren ist der Rasen. Eine Wonne voller Rosenduft dringt tief in unsere Nasen.‘
But first to Wilhelm Busch (a quite famous humorist, poet, illustrator and painter in Germany):
, The June came. The air is blowing gently. Shorn is the lawn. A delight full of rose scent penetrates deep into our noses.'
For me June means: the corn is beginning to smell, the poppy is in full flower and the days last longer.
Ich wünsche allen noch einen schönen Juni.
I wish all a nice June.

Kalenderblatt Juni Gartenbesichtigung – Calendar sheet June visit of a garden

The Himalaya garden in Wiesent near Regensburg was on our wish list for gardens to visit. Because the head gardener Olaf Grabner in the journal ‘Grüner Anzeiger’ about the plants which grow in this  garden.
Unfortunately the opening times are inconvenient for us. On Sunday we never travel to and back from Austria. But at the end of May it finally worked out.
Actually we are not fans of East Asian gardens – but we have an open mind for something new.
There were a lot of plants to discover – unfortunately without a name tag (but it is not a botanical garden). But also this garden suffered from the drought.

Im Entstehen war der chinesische Garten.
In the making was the Chinese garden.

What I really liked are the stone sculptures. I would like to have something similar in our garden.
The potter was naturally surrounded. But I only buy pots which are frost proofed. Although one like these beasts would look really great.

Also hat sich die Fahrtunterbrechung doch gelohnt.
Therefore the stop was worth it.
You should consider there is much bustle and the public parking area is always crowded – but there is always the possibility to park outside.
Maybe this is a suggestion for a day-trip. The entrance fee is for the people in Nepal.

Kalenderblatt Juni Ausstellung– Calendar sheet June Exhibition

About the exhibition of Jean Paul Gaultier I wrote at the beginning of February 2016.

Eigentlich – in reality

Eigentlich waren einige Tage Camping geplant.
In reality we planned some camping days.
First at the beginning of May in Freising – but the gardener had a bad cough, which the meadow manager took over gratefully; and then the weather was cold and this should take place at the Isar.
Then now for some days to Bamberg to see among others to the state horticultural show. But this at the heavy showers and heavy thunderstorms.
So at least we decided for a day trip to the nursery Augustin in Effeltrich - we wanted to buy a half of a wine barrel, because one of ours leaked.
Mit dem Wetter hatten wir Glück – Sonnenschein.
With the weather we were happy – sunshine.
Naturally all was decorated and exhibited perfect. And naturally you couldn’t see any weed.

Vom Café hat man einen wunderschönen Blick.
From the coffee shop you have a nice view.

The frogs croaked and from the glasshouse there came the answer.

It was really a lovely day, also when at the travel home there were traffic jams after traffic jams.
