Nach unserem ‚Urlaub’– after our ‚holiday’

Wir sind schon eine Weile aus dem Urlaub zurück, aber da es auch hier soviel geregnet hat, ist das Gras – und nicht nur das -  gewachsen. So hieß es erst mal schneiden usw. usw. Wir dachten, es sei alles viel weiter und wir würden einiges verpassen z.B. der Türkenmohn, Clematis usw. Das dauert wohl noch. Auch die Pfingstrosen sind noch nicht alle offen. Aber einige  Lichtblicke gibt es. So blüht die Tulpe Sprengeri. Sobald man eine englische Zeitung aufmacht, sieht man diese schöne Tulpe. Und zwar immer in Massen, da sie sich so vermehren soll. Aber warum ist sie eigentlich dann so teuer?
We are back from holiday since some days or better one week. As it was raining here, the grass – and not only the grass – was growing. So for us it means cutting etc. etc. We thought that all is further on and we shall miss something for example the flower of the oriental poppy, the clematis. But these will take some time. Also not all or the peonies are not open yet. But there are some highlights. So the tulip  sprengeri is flowering. If you open an English magazine, you will see this beautiful tulip. And they are flowering always in abundance, because they are self seeding and will build a lot of bulbs. . But then, why they are so expensive?

In Wirklichkeit ist sie gar nicht grell, sondern hat ein schönes Rot und ist blüht erst Ende Mai/Anfang Juni. Ich hoffe, sie vermehrt sich auch hier.
In reality the tulip the red is not so bright, but beautiful and it is flowering end of May/beginning of June. I hope, it will increase in our garden as well.   

Das Cirsium (eine Distel) blüht auch. Ich liebe sie, aber die Vermehrung erfolgt auch nur über Ableger und nicht über Samen.
The Cirsium (a thistle) is also flowering. I love it, but the propagation take place by diversion and not by seed.

 

Und dann in der Zinkwanne die englische Schwertlilie – Herkunft Isle of Harris (Schottland).

And then in the laundry tub the English iris - origin Isle of Harris (Scotland).
