Urlaubstage der Gärtnerin – holidays of the head-gardener

Die Gärtnerin besucht für ihr Leben gerne Kurse. So habe ich einen Kurs in Lederverarbeitung gebucht. Allerdings ist es nicht so mein Ding – habe ich dann festgestellt. Vor allem das Punzieren. Aber der Wiesenmanager hat einen Gürtel mit Punzierung und eine Gürteltasche ohne Punzierung dazu bekommen. Rene (der Kursleiter) hat mir tatkräftig geholfen – allerdings anderen Damen ohne Ehemann auch. Sonst waren die Ehemänner gefordert. Spaß hat mir allerdings das zusammennähen gemacht.

The gardener likes to visit workshops. So I booked one in working with leather. But that’s not my thing. Especially the punching of the leather (I hope this is correct). But nevertheless the meadow manager got a belt and a belt bag.  Rene, the course instructor actively supported me - as well as other ladies, who were without their husbands. Otherwise the husbands are asked. But for me it was fun to sew together.

Ein paar Tage später habe ich eine Kurs ‚Destillation von Pflanzenölen und Hydrolate besucht, der wirklich erholsam und Spaß gemacht hat.
Some days later I visited a workshop in distillation of vegetable oils and hydrolate, which was fun and relaxing.

 Diese beiden Kurse waren im Mai in Schlierbach: Im Juli finden in Haslach immer die textilen Tage statt. Nach einigen Jahren Pausen, hat es mich doch wieder interessiert. Erstens das Mühlviertel ist schön, wir lieben Camping und die Atmosphäre ist toll.
The two workshops were in May in Schlierbach. In July there are always textile days in Haslach (Mühlviertel) with a lot of workshops. After a break of some years  I was again interested. First the Mühlviertel is a beautiful part of Upper Austria , we love camping and the atmosphere is great.
Diesmal war ‚Süße Waffeln’ dran – also Waffelbindung. Leider nur ein Kurzkurs von drei Tagen bei der Schweizer Kursleiterin Katharina Osterwalder.
This time I visited ‘Sweet waffles’ – therefore weaving in wafers.  Unfortunately it was only a workshop of three days with instructor Katharina Osterwalder from Switzerland.

 

 

 

Anschließend eine Woche nähen eines Kesa  bei Walter Brix. Ich wusste nur hier handelt es sich um ein buddhistisches Mönchsgewand. Viel zu nähen – von Hand (Vorteil: keine Nähmaschine war mitzubringen). Natürlich wurde man (ich) nicht fertig damit. So habe ich von diesen Kurstagen Arbeit mitgebracht. Aber da kann man sich dabei  an schöne, harmonische Tage erinnern.  Und Walter Brix ist eine Kapazität auf dem Gebiet und enorm nett und hilfsbereit.

And then a week sewing a kesa with Walter Brix. I only knew that it is a wrap for a Buddhistic monk.  It means a lot of sewing by hand (advantage: there was no need for a sewing machine). Of course I didn’t finish it. So I – and not only I – took some work at home. But then I can remember the lovely days I had. And Walter Brix is an expert and rather nice and helpful

Therfore all in all it were wonderful holidays for the gardener.
