‚Sticheleien’ in Michelstadt – textilmarket ‚Sticheleien’ in Michelstadt

Vor den Advents-/Weihnachtsmärkten – Weihnachten beginnt bereits in den Geschäften – noch der Textilmarkt in Michelstadt. Für uns in erreichbarer Nähe (trotzdem noch ca. 90 km) . Für uns von Vorteil: man kann sich erst am Morgen entscheiden, fahren wir oder fahren wir nicht. Das Wetter war so schön, daß nichts gegen einen Ausflug einzuwenden war. Der Markt hat immer Glück mit dem Wetter. Ein herrlicher Oktobertag für diesen Ausflug. Bevor man auf den Markt kommt, hat man schon zwei Hürden zu nehmen: Wollgeschäft und dann das:

Before the Christmas fairs are beginning – Christmas is already in the shops – there is the textile market in Michelstadt (a small town in Forest of Odes). For us, it is near (nevertheless still approximately 90 km). For us an advantage: we could decide in the morning, will we go or not. But the weather was so fine; there was no objection to a trip to Michelstadt.  The market has always luck with the weather. It was a marvellous October day. Before you come to the market you have to break down two barriers: a wool shop and than that:

 



Bevor wir uns ins Getümmel stürzen, das obligatorische Frühstück im Cafe am Rathausplatz Leyhausen. Der erste Stand ‚sticken & staunen’  – hier habe ich noch fotografiert, später nur noch Bilder im Museum und im Ort.

Before we throw ourselves in the fray, we had – as usually - breakfast in the ‘Café am Rathausplatz Leyhausen’. The first stall 'Stitchingand Being astonished' – here I took some pictures; later on the photos are from the museum and the village. .
