Ziel dieser Reise war einen bzw. zwei Vorträge von Sarah Raven zu besuchen. Diese wurde  von Dineke Logtenberg  anläßlich des 25-jährigen Jubiläums  von ‚De Boschhoeve‘ eingeladen. Es mußte zwar dafür noch extra bezahlt werden, aber es hat sich ausgezahlt. In Großbritannien wäre es noch teurer. Sie ist sehr geschäftstüchtig  - aber das sind andere Leute auch.

The object of our journey was to visit a lecture respectively lectures of Sarah Raven. This was organized by Dineke Logtenberg in celebration of 25-years anniversary of ‘DeBoeschhoeve’. You had to pay additional to the entrance fee, but it was worth. In Great Britain it would be far more expensive. She (Sarah Raven) is very efficient – but these are other people as well.

 

Zum Garten De Boschhoeve zu kommen, war nicht einfach. Am Tag vorher erfuhren wir durch Zufall, daß am nächsten Tag 2000 Fallschirmspringer in der Nähe von Ede – wo wir campierten – anläßlich des Endes des zweiten Weltkrieges in den Niederlanden abspringen würden.  So habe ich doch gedrängt, nicht erst eine halbe Stunde vor Öffnung des Gartens  zu fahren – normalerweise sind gemütliche 20 Minuten Fahrt ausreichend. Aber diesmal: Umleitung, nach Umleitung. Wir wußten gar nicht mehr, wo wir eigentlich sind. Allerdings hatten wir glück, da wir gegen die Richtung fuhren. Auf der Gegenseite kilometerlange Staus – das schon um 8.00 Uhr. Und Radfahrer – auch hier bald Stau. Und dann waren alte Armeefahrzeuge und Räder unterwegs.

To visit the garden ‘De Boschhoeve’ was not easy. The day before we were informed by chance, that on the next day 2000 parachutes were expected to land near Ede – there we stayed at the camping site – in celebration of the end of the second world war in the Netherlands. So I pushed not to go a half hour before opening time – normally it is done in 20 minutes. But this time rerouting after rerouting. In the end we didn’t know where we actually were. But we were lucky that we had to take this direction. On the opposite direction was traffic jam – and this at 8 o’clock in the morning. And cyclists – also here nearly traffic jam. We saw a lot of old army vehicles and bicycles as well.

Ich bin da immer hin und weg. Geld konnte man auch gut dalassen.

I am always delighted.  And you could spend some money here in the nursery and stalls.
Am nächsten Morgen hat es geregnet – besser gesagt geschüttet. Aber dann kam die Sonne heraus und wir hatten eine schöne Heimfahrt.
The next morning it was raining – better said it pelted with rain. But then the sun was shining and we had a lovely journey home.

Urlaub im Herbst in den Niederlande und Belgien: Ede – holidays in autum in the Netherland and Belgium : Ede

Eigentlich hatten wir einen Besuch zum ‚De Hessenhof‘ in Ede schon zweimal dieses Jahr geplant. Das erste Mal mußten wir feststellen, daß in den Niederlande kein Pflanzenmarkt an einem Sonntag stattfindet und das zweite Mal war Koningsdag. Aber diesmal hat es geklappt. Vor zwei Jahren waren wir das erstemal da, nachdem wir Herrn Kramer bin der Gärtnerei Hügin kennengelernt haben.
Actually we had planned a visit to ‘De Hessenhof’’ twice this year. First for the market of hellebores - but a plant market in the Netherlands never will take place on Sunday.  The second time there was ‘Koningsdag’. But this time it worked. The last time we were there was two years ago and it was our first visit. We met Mr. Kramer at the nursery Hügin.

Das schöne hier ist, man kann zwischen den Mutterbeeten herumgehen. Andererseits – ich habe das System, wo welche Pflanzen, die man gesehen und eigentlich kaufen will, sind.
Here the nice thing is that you can walk between the mother beds. But on the other side – I still haven’t understood the system, where the plant is you actually want to buy, because you saw it in the mother bed.

Den Schnittlauch haben wir gefunden, ebenso die  Boehmeria  - meine Lieblingspflanze. Man muß nur beim Jäten aufpassen, daß man sie nicht für eine Brennnessel verwechselt. Allerdings brennt sie nicht, aber da immer einen Test machen?
The chive we found, as well as the Boehmeria – my favorite plant. You have to be careful when you are weeding, that you don’t confuse it with the nettle. But always to make a test?

Die Distel und das Bohnenkraut habe ich leider nicht gefunden.
Unfortunately the thistle and the savory I haven’t found.

So haben wir doch einiges zum Kaufen gefunden.

So we found something to buy.

Das  Jahr beginnt, wie es geendet hat: nebelig, grau und trüb. Zu Weihnachten hatte ich mir vorgenommen, jeden Tag an die frische Luft zu gehen – also auch heute.  Der Weg in den Garten und die Wege im Garten – gatschig. So zeige ich ein paar Bilder, die ich bereits Mitte Dezember bei ähnlichen Bedingungen gemacht habe.
The year begins as it ended: foggy, dull and deadly dull. At Christmas I decided to go and get some fresh air every day – so today as well. The way to the garden and the paths in the garden – mushy. Therefore I show some pictures, which I did in the middle of December at nearly the same conditions as today.
