Ich möchte Euch nicht die Indigo-Kleidung vorenthalten, die als weitere Beispiele gezeigt wurden, so von den Tuareg, den Yoruba und dann noch einen Plisseerock aus Kroatien.
Die Bilder wurden von meinem Mann aufgenommen, der Text dazu stammt aus der Beschriftung der Stücke.
I don’t want to withhold other clothes dyed with Indigo, which are shown for examples, from the Tuareg and the Yoruba as well a pleated skirt from Croatian.
My husband took the pictures, the descriptions are from the labelling of the objects and I did the translation. I hope there are not too many errors.

Der Leinenstoff wurde mit flachen Liegefalten
plissiert und diese wurden am Bund mit einer sehr aufwändigen Stickerei
fixiert. Zusätzlich wurden weitere sehr
dicht und fein bestickte Stoffstücke
appliziert. Unter der passenden ebenfalls plissierten Schürze ist der
Rockstoff glatt.

The linen-cloth is pleated with flat folds
and they are fixed at the waistband with an extravagantly embroidery.
Additional more pieces of material, which is solid and fine embroidered, has
been appliquéd. Below the matching apron, which is pleated as well, the
material of the skirt is straight.

Der Glanz dieses mit Indigo gefärbten
Turbanstoffes (shegga) ist durch das Schlagen des Stoffes mithilfe eines
Holzschlegels entstanden. Dass sich diese glänzend blaue Farbe auf der Haut
abreibt ist für die Tuareg ein Zeichen der Qualität des Stoffes und wird sehr geschätzt

The shininess of this indigo dyed fabric
for a turban is a result of beating the
tissue with a wooden mallet. That the shining blue colour will rub off on the
skin - for the Tuareg it is an indication of good quality and is highly
esteemed.

Der Stoff dieses Männergewandes wurde mit
Indigo sehr dunkel gefärbt und nach dem Nähen durch Schlagen mit einem
Holzhammer auf einer glatten Unterlage zum Glänzen gebracht. Zusätzlich wird
häufig ausgefällter Indigo-Schaum (shuni) auf den Stoff aufgebracht, um den
Glanz zu verstärken. Diese blaue Beschichtung ist nicht dauerhaft, sondern
reibt sich durch Gebrauch ab und färbt dabei auch die Haut und andere Kleidung.

The fabric of this garment for men is
dyed very dark. After sewing it was beaten with a wooden mallet on a plain
surface. So it got its shininess. Additional often the precipitated indigo foam
(shuni) was used to coat the fabric for intensifying the shininess. The blue
coating is not durable; it will rub off and will dye the skin as well as other
clothes.
