Im Himmelreich und Kremsursprung – in Kingdom of Heaven and Kremsursprung

 

Dieses kleine  Biotop heißt wirklich Himmelreich. Es ist nur ein kleiner Rundgang mit viel zu sehen.
This small habitat is genuinely named Kingdom of Heaven. It is only a short walk round, but a lot to look.  

 

Anschließend fuhren wir noch etwas weiter Richtung Kremsursprung. Von dort machten wir noch einen kleinen Spaziergang. Solche Massen von Amaryllis – besser Hippeastrum – habe ich noch nie gesehen. Und es gab noch weitere pflanzliche Besonderheiten.  Afterwards we drove a little further in direction of the well of the small river Krems. From there we made a little walk. Such a lot of Amaryllis – better named Hippeastrum – I have never seen before. And there were some other botanical.

 

Früher gab es hier ein Gasthaus, das nur am Wochenende offen hatte und gegen Anmeldung auch etwas zu essen hatte. Jetzt gibt es kein Gasthaus mehr, dafür leben jetzt mehr Leute in dem Tal. Und einige haben sich alte ‚Häuser’ (sprich Sacherl) für die heutigen Bedürfnisse herrichten lassen.
Formerly there was an inn, which was open only at the weekend and only after registration you got something to eat. Now, there isn’t an inn any more, but on the other side there live more people in the valley as before. And some restored the old buildings (called Sacherl) for the needs by today’s standard.  

Almsee – Almsee

Die Gärtnerin wollte dem Wiesenmanager mal zeigen, welche Wiese sie gerne hätte. Und die gibt es nur Richtung Almsee oder sonst wo im Salzkammergut. Es gibt zwar nicht mehr so viele Narzissenwiesen wie früher – Neubauten. Aber die eine oder andere ist doch noch zu sehen.

The gardener wanted to show the meadow manager, which kind of meadow she would like to have. And to see this, it is only possible in the direction of the Almsee or maybe another spot in the Salzkammergut. There are not many meadows with narcissus any more – like it was in my child hood – because of new houses. But there you could still see the one or the other.  

Aber der Almsee ist immer einen Ausflug wert. Die große Saison hat noch nicht begonnen und das Wetter war auch nicht so schön, jedenfalls war der riesige Parkplatz leer. Und wir haben hier ebenfalls einen kleinen Spaziergang unternommen.  

But the Almsee is always an excursion worth. The high season hadn’t begun and the weather was not so nice – that meant the parking place was nearly empty. And so we did a short walk.
