Leider ist die Anzahl der Textilmärkte in Hessen sehr zurückgegangen. Deshalb ist es schön, daß es im Frühjahr wieder einer in Seligenstadt stattfindet. Seligenstadt ist ohnehin eine Reise wert. Der Kräutergarten und die Orangerie des Benediktinerklosters sind sehenswert. Donnerstag ist außerdem Backtag und man kann das leckere Brot frisch aus dem Ofen kaufen - Vorsicht lange Schlange. Und dann ist da noch das nette Kaffee.
Der Markt, der am ersten Wochenende im Mai stattfindet, stellt im Kloster aus u.a. auch in den Mönchzellen. Übrigens gibt es hier auch einen Adventmarkt im Dezember.
Und vom Sa 13.10.12 - So 14.10.12 ist der Textilmarkt in Michelstadt (Sticheleien - vom Faden zum Kunstwerk). Auch Michelstadt und der Textilmarkt ist einen Ausflug wert.
Unfortunately, the number of textile markets in Hessen dropped. Therefore, it is good, that in spring a market takes place in Seligenstadt. Seligenstadt is a little town at the Main and is well worth a journey.
The herb garden and the orangery of the Benedictine monastry are worth seeing. Thursday is baking day and you can buy the fresh baked bread from the oven - attention long queue. And there is also a quite nice coffee.
The market, which is held at the first weekend im May, exhibit in the abbey - among other in the monk's cells. . There is also an Advent-Market in December.
